I just returned from another canoe trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in Northern Minnesota.  We entered at Seagull Lake and traveled through Saganaga and basecamped on Cherry Lake.  We had beautiful weather the first 4 days then a storm front moved through and gave us cooler temperatures, wind, rain and some snow.  Please take a look at my Boundary Waters gallery.

I visited Pinicon Ridge County Park, near Central City, Iowa today.  This time of year the terrain has been sort of blah, but looking closer at some of the ice formations near Horseshoe Falls, I saw some intriguing patterns.  These abstract patterns were a deviation from the type of images I normally capture… I had a great time until my feet got cold

I visited Mines of Spain Recreation Area near Dubuque, Iowa yesterday.  I had intended to visit for a long time, but am very glad I finally made it.  There were many trails… some of which still show signs of damage from the heavy rains (approx.   14 inches this summer).  I hiked the Catfish Creek and Horseshoe Bluff trails.  The bluffs in the Horseshoe Bluff area were incredible!  I started to climb Horseshoe Bluff, but it was so steep, I opted not to go all the way to the top.

I just returned from another canoe trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in Northern Minnesota.  We entered at Moose River North and basecamped at Iron Lake.  We had unbelievably warm temperatures of nearly 80 degrees the entire trip!  The fishing was good and photography was also good.  Take a look at my Boundary Waters gallery.

Check out the Sept./ Oct. 2011 issue of  The Iowan magazine.  They used an eight page series of images that I captured at Lake Macbride State Park over the last two seasons   I was fortunate enough to visit when a lot of water from Lake Macbride was going over the dam and the Coralville Reservoir levels were low.  Also, the Fall colors were incredible!

On August 27 Linn County Conservation invited the members of the Meskwaki Nation to perform traditional dances and story telling at Wickiup Hill Outdoor Learning Center.  Over 500 people attended the 1st annual event.

[SinglePic not found] I just returned from another canoe trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in Northern Minnesota.  This was a father/ daughter trip, but my younger daughter Lisa had just switched jobs and was unable to go so I paddled solo.  We (I traveled with Alan and Leah) entered at Sawbill Lake and base-camped on Grace Lake.  The weather, fishing and photo opportunities were all superb!  I will adding more photos in the Boundary Waters Gallery in the next few days.
