April 23, 2023 - The Aurora was visible in Iowa! This shot was taken at Pleasant Creek State Park. At times, it was visible overhead and pulsating… very unusual for Iowa!
This shot was taken on a tripod and was exposed for 13 seconds. Therefore, while it was visible to the naked eye, it didn’t appear this bright in person.
Some aurora images I see are so bright, they are unrealistic in my opinion. I’ve tried to strike a balance that shows the beauty of the Aurora while keeping it believable :-)
