August 22, 2022 - Another hike at Wickiup Hill. This was one of those mornings where everything fell into place. I love foggy mornings and on a very rare occasion I’ll see a partial fogbow. Well this morning I saw the coolest fogbow that I’ve ever seen! When I researched it, I found that the white color is due to the small water droplets in fog. Raindrops are much larger so they act as prisms and display the multi-colored spectrum.

After shooting lots of fog and fogbow photos, I headed to the car… I was tired and ready for breakfast. But on the way back, I saw two sandhill cranes headed to the wetland pond… or at least what was left of it with the lack of rain. I nearly talked myself out of going back but fortunately I did… and they posed nicely :-)
