August 2022 - Canoe trip to the Boundary Waters with son-in-law Josh and grandsons Joel and Caleb. We entered at Kawishiwi Lake. Our destination was Lake Polly. It was about 5 miles of paddling and there were 4 portages. The first 2 we could paddle through, thanks to a beaver dam raising the water level. The next 2 were the longest this group has done to date… 189 and 90 rods (160 rods is 1/2 mile)
We made camp by mid-afternoon at the first site on Lake Polly. It started to rain shortly after setting up camp. We stayed at this site for 4 nights then spent our last night on Kawishiwi Lake… at a very nice site!
